The Law of Self Expression

The need to express oneself is an inherent mental law. It is a fundamental human need that allows individuals to assert their identity and connect with others. Above all else, it is because humankind was created to be both a recipient and a benefactor of truth that we constantly seek to express ourselves. Self-expression is essential for individual identity and social connection. By this, I mean that people have an innate need to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and identities to others. But one may ask, why? The answer lies in the fact that the role of a human being is to be both a recipient and a conveyor of truth; we are originally designed to be expressions of God. In creating us, our Father was expressing Himself.
Since He is love, we are the fruits of that love. Love begot us as a manifestation of itself to the universe. It was for one reason and one reason only that mankind was brought into the stage of existence: to reflect the image of his Creator, both in feature and in character. Mankind was to be a copy of the divine and was to continuously grow more and more into the image of his Maker. This growth was to be achieved by constantly receiving from his Maker and distributing the infinite blessings of love from the One whose very nature is love. Thus, the laws of reception and expression were to be central in the life of mankind. Therefore, it is essential that we know the truth and be filled with it, for the substance of our hearts becomes the outflow of our words and deeds. If what is contained in the heart is vanity, then what flows from the mouth and is reinforced by deeds will be death. Having a deep understanding of truth is foundational to living a good life.
